In Poster 1 there are some people who are standing inside a shopping basket. I like this one because I think it shows the idea of being trapped by shopping very well. It seems to be saying that we don’t understand that we are in a cage. It’s simple but quite a powerful message. Poster 2 looks quite good, but I’m not sure what it is trying to say. It’s obviously based on the Tetris video game, and the four blocks at the top that say ‘buy’ clearly fit, but I’m not sure it would make me want to stop shopping. I definitely prefer the first one.
How Do We Decide What to Buy?
We decide what to buy through our own free will and choices. For example, when we see something attractive in a shop, we may suddenly want to purchase it, even if we do not really need it. The product can be useful and healthy, or it can be harmful and unnecessary. If we keep buying things just because they attract us, we can waste our money very quickly.
